What is Kindergroup?
Southborough Kindergroup is a cooperative playgroup for infants, toddlers, and preschool children and their caregivers. Kindergroup has been a part of Southboro for 32 years, and its continued success is uniquely dependent upon the cooperation of each and every parent who participates.
When does it meet?
Kindergroup has meeting times on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30. Choose the day that best meets your schedule. Kindergroup meets September through June, and follows the Town of Southboro's school calendar.
Where does Kindergroup meet?
We meet at a central location in Southboro. We have three child rooms for different age groups and a coffee room for the caregivers.
Does Kindergroup always meet in the same place?
Each day schedules field trips about once a month to get the group out together. Field trips are generally an additional cost. Some of Kindergroup's favorites are: Apple Picking, Visiting the Fire Station and The Discovery Museum.
How much does it cost?
There are weekly dues (collected once in the Fall and again in the Spring). The exact amount depends on the number of days we meet in a given year.
What responsiblities will I have as a member?
Each member is an invaluable contributor to the functioning of the group. Members are assigned various duties during the year on a rotating schedule, for example, bringing a snack, organizing a craft or cleaning up.
Will I have to opportunity to meet parents from other days?
Yes. We organize a night out once a month to allow the parents to socialize. We also have volunteer opportunites which allow members to meet members of other days.
How does Kindergroup support the community?
Kindergroup sponsors many community events to support the town of Southboro, including Santa Day, The Easter Egg Hunt and Giving Tree collection. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to get involved in our community. See our events page for more information.
