  • Is Kindergroup a daycare or drop-in playgroup?
No, we are not a daycare. Parents/caregivers stay with and are responsible for their own children during playgroups or field trips. We are also not a drop-in playgroup. While prospective members may schedule a visit by contacting the Membership Coordinator, all members must register and pay dues.
  • When do playgroups meet?
Playgroups meet weekly on Tuesday and Friday from 9:30am-11:30 a.m. Kindergroup follows the Southborough Public School calendar. We do not meet during school vacations, holidays or snow days. And while we do not meet regularly during the summer, members often set up playdates and informal events to maintain their friendships!
  • Where do playgroups meet?
Indoor playgroups for 2023-24 will be held at Fay School in the Upjohn Building. There is parking available at various locations on/near the Fay campus.
  • What do my membership dues go toward?
Dues help pay for playgroup facility rental, activity supplies, and the organization's operating expenses including insurance, website hosting, P.O. Box, tax filing fees, etc. Dues also include a small contribution to the Sunshine Fund which allows us to do a little something for members in a time of need (sending flowers, etc.). Membership dues have increased slightly since last year. Increased dues will allow us to offer more events as no cost to members and/or to subsidize the cost of some events to make them more affordable. Kindergroup is a membership sponsored community, so all field trips, playgroups, and social events are paid for by member dues and ticket sales, as applicable. Kindergroup only receives sponsorships for larger annual community events such as Santa Day, the Turkey Trot, and the Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Does Kindergroup go on field trips?
Yes! We typically schedule one field trip a month that "replaces" a playgroup day. Field trips may be at an additional cost to the member; however Kindergroup will always try to subsidize any costs. Some of our favorite adventures are apple picking, visiting the Southborough Public Safety Building, and decorating treats at Yummy Mummy Bakery.
  • Will I have the opportunity to meet parents from other days?
Yes! We schedule social events to encourage the parents/caregivers to get together and socialize. Another great way to get to know other parents/caregivers is to join a committee.
  • What is the refund policy?
We encourage anyone who is interested in joining to have a visit first, to see if you and your child enjoy the playgroup. Once you have registered, if you decide to leave Kindergroup prior to your second week, you will receive a full refund. Choosing to leave after the second week and prior to the third week will result in a 50% refund. After the third week no refund will be granted. In the event of unusual circumstances refunds may be granted at the discretion of the Board.
