Is Kindergroup a daycare or drop-in playgroup?

No, we are not a daycare. Parents/caregivers stay with and are responsible for their own children during playgroups or field trips. We are also not a drop-in playgroup. While prospective members may schedule a visit by contacting the Membership Coordinator, all members must register and pay dues.

When do playgroups meet?

Playgroups meet weekly on Tuesday and Friday from 9:30am-11:30am. At this time, all playgroups will be held outside. As the weather gets colder, we will determine if it safe and if there is enough interest for indoor playgroups this winter. Kindergroup follows the Southborough Public School calendar. We do not meet during school vacations, holidays or snow days. And while we do not meet regularly during the summer, members often set up playdates and informal events to maintain their friendships!

Where do playgroups meet?

This fall, playgroups will meet entirely outside, typically at local playgrounds (though other outside venues will be considered). The location of each week's playgroup will be communicated to you by your Daily Coordinator.

Does Kindergroup go on field trips?

Yes! We typically schedule 1 field trip a month that "replaces" a playgroup day. Field trips may be at an additional cost to the member; however Kindergroup will always try to subsidize any costs. Some of our favorite adventures are apple picking, visiting the Southborough Public Safety Building, and decorating treats at Yummy Mummy Bakery.

What do my membership dues go toward?

Membership dues pay for insurance, facility rental, cleaning supplies, toys and crafts, entertainment, and sometimes non-perishable snacks for the children.

Will I have the opportunity to meet parents from other days?

Yes! We schedule Members Night Out events to encourage the parents/caregivers to get together and socialize. Another great way to get to know other parents/caregivers is to join a committee.

What is the refund policy?

We encourage anyone who is interested in joining to have a visit first, to see if you and your child enjoy the playgroup. Once you have registered, if you decide to leave Kindergroup prior to your second week, you will receive a full refund. Choosing to leave after the second week and prior to the third week will result in a 50% refund. After the third week no refund will be granted. In the event of unusual circumstances refunds may be granted at the discretion of the Board.

Are membership dues prorated if I join later in the year?

Social Membership dues are not prorated, though we usually stop collecting dues for any new members that join after April of that season. Full Membership dues do not currently have a prorated option because we are not currently paying any facility fees. In the event that we are able to host an indoor playgroup option this winter, prorated dues will be available.
